Unpacking and preparing tools
Remove all components of the concealed door frame system from the packaging and prepare them for installation. It's crucial to install this frame before plastering and painting the walls. The baseboard should not be installed. We recommend finishing the flooring before installing the prefinished door.
Let's list all the parts of the frame structural elements of the Belldinni door:
-
Concealed door hinges with caps.
-
Magnetic door lock with strike plate.
-
Door handles with screws and hex key.
-
Plastic connectors.
Prepare some tools for the installation:
-
Power drill.
-
Hammer.
-
Tape measure.
-
Level.
-
Chisel.
-
Wood shims.
-
Self-centering hinge drills.
-
Screws.
Assembling the frame
Place all frame parts on a level surface and join them using plastic connectors. Each connector is marked with the corresponding side of the frame. Our video shows this process in more detail.
Once the door frame is assembled, you can install it in the doorway. Use shims between the frame and the wall if necessary. At the end, adjust using a level. Secure the hinge jam with screws (different types of walls will require different screws). After that, check the frame with a level one more time.
Preparing the door slab for installation
Install concealed hinges on the door slab. Make sure you use the right side of the hinges. Pre-drill holes for each screw using a drill bit with a diameter smaller than the diameter of the screws. Remove the pre-installed screws in the jam hinge holes.
Mounting the door slab
Mount the slab in the frame by inserting the free side of the hinges into the jam and securing the screws. Set the remaining part of the frame to align with the door slab, ensuring an even gap, then secure the rest of the frame using screws.
Installing the magnetic lock
Make sure you are installing the lock correctly. Pre-drill holes for each screw using a drill bit and secure the magnetic lock.
Thread size: 3.5mm × 25mm" × 1" (D*L). This is the size of the screws used in the installation process. The first number represents the diameter of the screw, the second number is the length of the screw, and the third number indicates the number of screws needed.
Please note that screws might not be included with every order.
Installing the handle
Securing the spindle is the first step in installing the door handle. Then, install the rest of the handle as usual.
Installing the strike plate
Remove the pre-installed screws in the lock hole and install the strike plate. One side of it is wider than the other. Check if the door lock is closing correctly; if not, flip the strike plate upside down.
Please note that screws might not be included with every order of the Belldinni door kit. It's advisable to check the contents of your kit and purchase any additional screws if needed before starting the installation.
Installing the hinge caps
Install the hinge caps with light hand pressure. This way, your door will look neat and finished.
Installing the telescopic frame elements
Install the telescopic interframe elements inside the installed frame and secure each part with screws. Clean the door and surrounding area to remove dust or debris from installation.
How do you maintain frameless doors?
-
Regular cleaning: use a soft cloth and mild detergent to clean the door surface. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch the finish.
-
Hinge maintenance: periodically check the hinges for any signs of wear and tear. Apply a small amount of lubricant to ensure smooth operation.
-
Avoid excessive force: while frameless doors are sturdy, avoid slamming them to prevent damage to the hardware and alignment.
