Interior Door buying guide. What to consider when choosing an Interior door

Whether you're building a new home and need interior doors or replacing an existing door, the first step to buying a new interior door is to choose the right door configurations.

5 common problems with interior doors and how to solve them

Because doors are subjected to heavy daily use, it is essential to ensure they are properly maintained. If these minor faults are repaired in a timely manner, interior doors will last much longer.

Guide

Tight door

The slab rubs against the floor or frame, requiring extra effort to open and close.

Check the hinges—they may have loosened. If that doesn't help, try trimming the edge of the slab or adjusting the door frame.

Squeaky door

An unpleasant noise is heard when opening or closing.

Lubricate the hinges. If the squeak persists, replace the worn ones.

A door that won't stay open or closed

It constantly opens or closes spontaneously.

Check the level—most likely, the door is uneven. Adjust a door frame and hinges.

Sagging door

The slab catches on the floor or is difficult to close due to warping.

Tighten the hinge fasteners and ensure the frame is level.

Door warping

The door is warped, does not fit tightly, and gaps appear.

If you followed all the manufacturer's recommendations before installation, then it was most likely used incorrectly afterwards, for example, in a room with high humidity. If the door is severely warped, it must be replaced.
